Research opportunity!

The Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the State of the Rockies Project and academic departments on campus, is offering a new internship position for research on dark skies.

The research project will help determine the night sky’s brightness at locations across campus. This data will be compared to similar information being collected across the greater Colorado Springs area to help inform Dark Skies initiatives both on and off-campus.

Intern tasks include designing the study, mapping data using GIS, recommending a draft Dark Skies policy to be considered on CC’s campus that connects Dark Skies benefits and policies to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and more!
