#GRADSCHOOLBOUND: Aiyu Zheng ‘18

After graduation, Aiyu will move to New Jersey to begin her PhD program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University.

I am hoping to learn more on theoretical ecology to understand global vegetational pattern formation under climate change, especially alpine plant responses to wild fire. I am also hoping to understand the global carbon cycle for potential carbon mitigation using GIS and mathematical modeling tools.

My advice for CC students interested in pursuing grad school: Invest time in your research interests, talk to CC faculty, and reach out to potential graduate advisors in advance! Treat yourself well and trust yourself.

Congratulations, Aiyu!
