#HIRED: James Reohr ‘18

After graduating, James is headed to Denver to begin work as an analyst for HealthCare Appraisers, Inc.

I’m very much looking forward to working on small teams in a client-facing role. It’ll be interesting to apply some of the complex problem solving skills I’ve developed at CC in the workplace. A hope of mine is to continually learn something new about the complexities of the healthcare industry every day.

One piece of advice I have is to talk to as many people as possible about what they do, what they’ve learned, and how they’ve made it to that point. There are so many intriguing fields and positions out there that you may not have heard of. You’ll start to develop a sense for what you might like and dislike, and you can hone your search from there. It also never hurts to expand your network and find new friends and mentors along the way.

I think the most important part of the internship/job search is to not get discouraged. Chances are you’ll be denied from more positions than you get an offer from. Do your best to turn around and use those denials as motivation to keep putting yourself out there and trying to create opportunities for yourself. If you’re a student at CC, it’s because you’re brilliant. Any organization should be ecstatic to have you on board.

Congratulations, James!
