{"id":10728,"date":"2021-03-04T19:25:08","date_gmt":"2021-03-05T02:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.coloradocollege.edu\/careercenter\/?p=10728"},"modified":"2021-03-04T19:25:08","modified_gmt":"2021-03-05T02:25:08","slug":"cc-extern-tech-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.coloradocollege.edu\/careercenter\/cc-extern-tech-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"CC Extern, Tech &amp; Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The United States Olympic &amp; Paralympic CommitteeColorado Springs, Colorado, United States<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application deadline:<\/strong> March 19, 2021 11:55 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the guidance of the Senior Director, Performance Projects and the Associate Director, Integrated Health and Athlete Performance, the CC Extern will collaborate with sports medicine and science providers, as well as the USOPC data professionals, to develop processes and systems around technology and data analytics.\u00a0The goal is to drive engagement with the USOPC\u2019s data platforms and help build efficiencies within the USOPC\u2019s data practices, which will help drive enhanced communication across departments and assist in building out capabilities and tools to support the effective utilization of data from data collection to analysis to feedback.\u00a0This position will also assist in helping to grow the technological capabilities of the USOPC, focusing specifically on video capture, analysis (including AI and machine learning), and integration with performance data.<br>As part of this position, the USOPC is prepared to develop a formal education curriculum to support this position (e.g. regular education sessions, hands-on learning opportunities, practical exercises, etc.).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Extern will also be given ownership of a project with the expectation that the Extern will produce a deliverable (e.g. white paper, educational materials, documented process, computer code, etc.) that can enhance her\/his portfolio of work while also providing a needed resource to the USOPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><br><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\u00a0Assess USOPC sports performance, medicine, and science data policies and practices to help develop best practices (the \u2018Team USA Way\u2019) around such things as  Workflows and systems involving data collection to maintain quality\u00b7 Data tables to maximize data integrity, producing weekly reports to the relevant stakeholders of the data source\u00b7 Data security and permissions to relevant stakeholders, eliminating redundancies and building efficiencies around data access. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u00a0In partnership with Technology, Innovation, and Performance Analytics teams, conduct various data-related tasks including collection and entry, cleaning and validation, and analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\u00a0Assist in the development and construction of tools (e.g. coding) to support various aspects of data analysis \u2013 from data collection to feedback.\u00a0Assist in the activation, implementation, and utilization tracking of these tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. In partnership with members of the Technology, Innovation, and Performance Analytics teams, work to build performance pipelines for Olympic and Paralympic sports in an effort to understand the developmental athlete, the paths they can take to become an elite level performer, and how to stay healthy in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.\u00a0Work with members of the Technology, Innovation, and Performance Analytics teams to analyze video to support Team USA athletes, including manually tagging video of key events in specific sports video and working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools to help automate processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Conduct research and develop whitepapers\/position papers on various technologies (e.g. wearable devices) to assist Technology and Data initiatives in support of athlete health and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Work with Technology, Innovation, and Performance Analytics teams to develop strategies for effective storage of video, as well as ways to integrate video with performance data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Perform other duties as assigned\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Minimum Qualifications Required Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, or related field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current student or recent graduate of The Colorado College\u00b7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Equivalent job experience or applicable college\/university level classes may be combined for this requirement <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working knowledge of applied sport science or clinical statistical analysis; applicable coursework or internships may be combined for this requirement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experience with a variety of statistical software (Excel, Tableau, R)\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Previous work with video with an understanding of video analysis\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Previous coding experience preferred<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ability to handle confidential information and communicate only to intended audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training\/skill in data management software preferred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Excellent oral and written communication skills including editing documents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proficient in word processing and desktop publishing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basic computer skills in database management;
