The Colorado College Music Department is holding auditions for its fall Musical Theater production, The Mystery of Edwin Drood<\/em>.\u00a0 Performances are October 29, 30, and 31st<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Rehearsals will be held weekday evenings and weekend afternoons beginning week 2 of Block 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IN-PERSON AUDITIONS<\/u><\/strong> will be held Thursday, September 2nd<\/sup> from 3-6pm in Packard Concert Hall.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

lease bring 32 bars of a song appropriate to the style of the show, something that shows off your voice and your ability to tell a story through your performance.\u00a0 Bring sheet music double-sided in a binder.\u00a0 Pianist will be provided.\u00a0 Be prepared to do a cold reading from the show at the time of your audition.\u00a0 Callbacks will be held on Friday, September 3rd<\/sup> from 3-7pm in Packard Concert Hall.\u00a0 You will be notified if you are required for callbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VIRTUAL AUDITION SUBMISSIONS<\/u><\/strong> will be accepted until Thursday, September 2nd.\u00a0 Please include the following in your video:
Slate:<\/strong>\u00a0 Tell us your name, the name of the song you will sing, and the play from which your monologue comes.\u00a0 Please tell us which role(s) you are interested in playing.
Song:<\/strong>\u00a0 32 bars of a song that shows off your voice and your acting ability, preferably in the style of the show.\u00a0 Use of an accompaniment track is recommended but not required.
Monologue:<\/strong>\u00a0 Please present a monologue no longer than 90 seconds that shows your acting ability \u2013 keep in mind that each actor in this show plays multiple characters, so we are very interested in your range.

\u201cBased on Charles Dickens\u2019 final unfinished novel, this hilarious whodunit invites the audience to solve its mystery by choosing the identity of the murderer. The tale is presented as a show-within-a-show, as the Music Hall Royale – a delightfully loony Victorian theatre company – presents Dickens\u2019 brooding mystery.\u201d
