How many times have you sat in front of a blank screen staring at the pesky cursor, wondering why it\u2019s so hard to write about yourself? I\u2019ll bet it\u2019s more than once. Contemplating who you are as a human being is an exercise in mental (or existential?) gymnastics. And if you\u2019re trying to write a professional bio, you\u2019re trying to distill who you are and what you do in a way that\u2019s compelling to recruiters, hiring managers, colleagues, potential clients, and other contacts all at once\u2014so it can feel ramped up to Simone-Biles-floor-routine-difficulty levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your professional bio is, arguably, the most important text you\u2019ll ever write about yourself. It\u2019s the first introduction to who you are, what you do, and what you\u2019re interested in\u2014whether it\u2019s for a\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0platform, a\u00a0personal website<\/a>, or company team page. What you choose to highlight may play a role in others deciding to follow you, call you in for an interview, or invite you to participate in an event. It\u2019s an opportunity for you to\u2014in a few lines\u2014showcase your work, competence, and areas of expertise. So you\u2019d better stick the landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
