What\u2019s so great about SLAC anyway?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All the things! First, SLAC gives you the opportunity to apply to high-level jobs and internships \u2013 without ever leaving campus. The program offers two video recruiting days that allow you to interview with employers of your choice via video chat. So, no flying, no missed vacation days, and no hotel expenses.<\/p>\n

(But if you happen to be in New York or D.C. at the time of the recruiting events…by all means, attend the event, and interview with employers in person!)<\/p>\n

Second, only students from seven colleges (including CC) get to apply to positions through SLAC. That means that your competition for great jobs is much lower than, say, finding one on Indeed or LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

Who should apply to SLAC?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many of the opportunities offered through SLAC are full-time positions with benefits \u2013 so they\u2019re meant for graduating seniors<\/strong>. Juniors<\/strong> and sophomores<\/strong> are encouraged to apply to the many internships offered, too.\u00a0\u2191<\/a><\/p>\n

Okay, so how do I get a job through SLAC?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pretty simple. First, make an appointment at the Career Center<\/a> to get your resume and cover letter reviewed. (This is optional, obviously, but don’t skip it. Quality application documents make a huge<\/em> difference to employers.)<\/p>\n

Second, when the application for the September recruiting event opens up on\u00a0August 21, 2017<\/strong>, you get to start applying to jobs. All jobs are posted on SLAC’s\u00a0Handshake<\/a> site. Make sure to get your materials in before SLAC closes the application on\u00a0September 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Finally, after you submit everything, employers will review your application materials. If they like what they see, they\u2019ll select you for an interview. You\u2019ll get an email, and then you\u2019ll sign up for an interview slot on Handshake.<\/p>\n
