The internship program has a casual dress code.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Southwest Airlines Internship Program gives students quality real-world experience, an insider\u2019s glance into the fascinating airline industry, and is guaranteed to be a FUN semester! The goal of the Internship is to provide Interns with interactive learning opportunities and hands-on business experience.<\/p>\n<p>Projects Southwest Airlines Interns have worked on in the past include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helping to create a new set of master drawings for the entire Headquarters building.<\/li>\n<li>Writing articles for the inflight magazine.<\/li>\n<li>Designing and implementing a maintenance tracking application for all fueling equipment across the SWA fleet.<\/li>\n<li>Auditing stations throughout the country to evaluate our processes and procedures in place, evaluating any trends as well as making recommendations on improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with ad campaign photo shoots.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzing benefits and cost impacts of requested capital projects and expenditures through the use of financial models, spreadsheets, and presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Helping to design marketing strategies for new gate openings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please view <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southwest.com\/careers\">the Southwest Airlines website<\/a> for specific openings. All positions are located at our Headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The dates for the internship are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring 2018<\/strong>: January 22nd \u2013 May 4th (15 weeks)<br \/>\n<strong>Summer 2018:<\/strong> May\u00a0\u2013 August 2018 (dates TBD)<\/p>\n<p>Note that graduating seniors are allowed to apply for internships as well.\u00a0Graduating college students are eligible to apply for the internship semester immediately following their last semester. For example, a student graduating in May can apply for a summer internship, but would not be eligible for fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline to apply is September 22nd, 2017.
