I should\u2019ve been\u00a0job searching\u00a0<\/a>during my final [year] of college. And I did\u2014a little. But the whole process\u00a0really\u00a0<\/em>intimidated me. I scanned the sites for openings and threw myself into the ring for a few random positions, but for the most part, I kept pretending it wasn\u2019t on my to-do list.<\/div>\n

And then I decided, \u201cWell, I\u2019m not sure what I want to do after college, so, I\u2019ll go to grad school!\u201d I applied to one school, got in, and then\u2014surprise, surprise\u2014went through the same exact dilemma two years later when I graduated. Sure, I had three more letters after my name\u2014Abby Wolfe, MPH, woohoo!\u2014but, unfortunately, my grad school curriculum didn\u2019t include \u201cJob Searching 101.\u201d<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong. Grad school was great. I learned a lot and met a lot of awesome people. But the\u00a0reason\u00a0<\/em>I chose to pursue my master\u2019s degree was\u00a0not\u00a0<\/em>. I was prolonging my entrance into the \u201creal world\u201d because I was good at being a student, but not good at being a graduate. After all, every other time I graduated in my life I just moved on to more schooling (and yes, I count kindergarten graduation).<\/p>\n

Going through this at any point in your life can be scary for multiple reasons. But, alas, you can\u2019t escape it. So instead of putting it off any longer, let\u2019s look at your four biggest fears square in the eyes and face them together.<\/p>\n
