Spotlight on The Vocab:\u00a0Critical approaches to spoken word writing and performing<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What’s this class about?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ideal for vets and beginners alike, this course invites you to create original spoken word performance pieces drawn from the cracks and corners of your life. From rhyme to rage, we will identify critical techniques utilized by key artists from the genre\u2019s rich history. A series of creative and collaborative exercises, enhanced by group critiques, lead to one-two culminating public performances. This year’s Vocab will be\u00a0guest taught\u00a0by former Albuquerque Poet Laureate and Slam Champion Jessica Helen Lopez.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What are the times and dates?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All of Half Block: January 8-18, with class from 1pm-3pm.<\/p>\n
