The program engages science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) students in innovative, hands-on assignments that serve society by accelerating high-impact, low-cost solutions to some of the world\u2019s most pressing health needs. Based in PATH\u2019s Seattle, Washington, office, fellows are provided a meaningful research and laboratory experience and exposed to career opportunities in global health.<\/p>\n<p>ABOUT PATH<br \/>\nPATH is an international organization that drives transformative innovation to save lives and improve health, especially among women and children. We accelerate innovation across five platforms\u2014vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, devices, and system and service innovations\u2014that harness our entrepreneurial insight, scientific and public health expertise, and passion for health equity. Together, we deliver measurable results that disrupt the cycle of poor health.<\/p>\n<p>ABOUT SIEMENS FOUNDATION<br \/>\nThe Siemens Foundation has invested more than $100 million in the United States to advance workforce development and education initiatives in science, technology, engineering and math. The Siemens Foundation\u2019s mission is inspired by the culture of innovation, research and continuous learning that is the hallmark of Siemens\u2019 companies.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANCE YOUR CAREER AT PATH<br \/>\nPATH is seeking a cohort of six technical\/community college, undergraduate and graduate school students to join this competitive program.<\/p>\n<p>FELLOWSHIP DETAILS<br \/>\n\u2022 Dates: Three-month, full-time (40 hours\/week) assignment, May through August 2018 or June through September 2018.<br \/>\n\u2022 Housing: $1,400\/month; $4,200 total per fellow (for those not currently based in Seattle).<br \/>\n\u2022 Wage: $3,000\/month; $9,000 total per fellow.<br \/>\n\u2022 Desirable degrees include: biomedical engineering, biochemistry, biomedical technology, biological sciences, biotechnology, and mathematical modeling.<\/p>\n<p>PROJECTS<br \/>\nCandidates may apply for one or both of the following (see four-digit code online for details):<br \/>\n\u2022 Product Development Shop Fellow \u2013 2 openings (8640)<br \/>\n\u2022 Laboratory Research Fellow \u2013 4 openings (8641)<br \/>\nProduct Development Shop Fellows will work with one or more product development teams and join project teams that include research, product development, field validation, and commercialization activities.<br \/>\nExamples of previous Laboratory Shop Fellows\u2019 projects include:<br \/>\n\u2022 New methods for use of dried blood spots in conjunction with diagnostic tools for malaria elimination<br \/>\n\u2022 Optimization of HIV-1 Recombinase Polymerase Amplification for use as quantitative viral load assay<br \/>\n\u2022 Developing new methods for defining G6PD deficiency by flow cytometry<\/p>\n<p>Find out more and apply through SUCCESS, Job ID:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myinterfase.com\/coloradocollege\/job_view.aspx?token=ENF1YdmDpN6DKU0aRH88Cg%3d%3d\">22109<\/a>.
