In its first year, 20 youth served Denver neighborhoods through a single 10-week program. Today, MHYC engages\u00a0more than\u00a0200 youth (called Corpsmembers) every year through several\u00a0comprehensive programs that integrate paid work experience on community service projects with leadership development, career exploration and education.\u00a0During our\u00a024 year history, Mile High Youth Corps has grown from a small, seasonal, neighborhood-based organization to a comprehensive, year-round, regional program serving 15 counties from two regional offices, Metro Denver and the Southern Front Range of Colorado. Our mission is to\u00a0<em>help youth make a difference in themselves and their community through meaningful service opportunities and educational experiences.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Below\u00a0are our Corpsmember and agency accomplishments for 2017:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$296,534<\/strong>\u00a0in AmeriCorps Education Awards earned<\/li>\n<li><strong>101,537<\/strong>\u00a0service hours completes<\/li>\n<li><b>204<\/b>\u00a0youth\u00a0served<\/li>\n<li><b>3.1 millions\u00a0<\/b>gallons of water conserved<\/li>\n<li><b>408,557<\/b>\u00a0kwh of energy saved annually<\/li>\n<li><b>74<\/b>\u00a0units of green, low-income housing built<\/li>\n<li><b>43 miles<\/b>\u00a0of trail constructed and maintained<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>-Trail Work, Fire Mitigation, and more!<br \/>\n&#8211; Earn $720 bi-weekly stipend (before taxes)<br \/>\n&#8211; Earn a $1,583 AmeriCorps Education Award\u00a0 to pay for college, student loans, certifications<br \/>\n&#8211; Must be 18-24 years of age to apply<br \/>\n&#8211; Must have a G.E.D. or H.S.
