{"id":6864,"date":"2018-08-23T16:52:28","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T22:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.coloradocollege.edu\/careercenter\/?p=6864"},"modified":"2018-08-23T16:53:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-23T22:53:11","slug":"bilingual-crime-victim-advocate-at-benton-county-human-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.coloradocollege.edu\/careercenter\/bilingual-crime-victim-advocate-at-benton-county-human-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Bilingual Crime Victim Advocate at Benton County Human Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"meta-properties-section\">\n<div class=\"fa-text-property\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">The Bilingual Crime Victim Advocate provides services to crime victims in Spanish and English by assisting victims as they exercise their rights and utilize available services.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"property-box\">\n<div class=\"text-heavy sanitized-html-container\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Salary: $3,061.07 &#8211; $3,749.20 Monthly<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>Grant funded position with a scheduled end date of Sept 30, 2019.<\/em><\/div>\n<div>Essential Functions<\/div>\n<div><strong><u>MFA: Inform Victims of Rights and Resources<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><u>Essential Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Analyze new cases to identify crime victims requiring services.<\/li>\n<li>Accurately and concisely document all activities in District Attorney Case Management System (PbK).<\/li>\n<li>Advise victims of their rights as mandated by law.<\/li>\n<li>Provide written notification of court events and document compliance with victim rights and services.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and file documents with the court. Provide all relevant documents, brochures, and contact information of agencies for victim throughout case prosecution and post-disposition.<\/li>\n<li>Clearly explain the Criminal Justice System to victims and provide case specific information as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Accompany victims to appearances or attend on their behalf as requested and provide support in the grand jury and trial process.<\/li>\n<li>Refer victims to agencies or programs for assistance and assists in completing applications and forms.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information about stalking, SAPO and FAPA protective orders.<\/li>\n<li>Provides interpreter services to Spanish speaking victims.<\/li>\n<li>Translate and create Spanish language documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong><u>MFA: Act as Liaison between Victim, Prosecutor and Court<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><u>Essential Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepares requests for no-contact deletions on defendant release agreements for filing with the court and assisting in scheduling of objection hearings.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures victim impact statements are provided to prosecutors, defense attorneys, and the court.<\/li>\n<li>Assist victims in recovery of property and\/or restitution for stolen and damaged property.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain and document restitution information and file with the court as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information to prosecutors regarding lack of payment of restitution for probation violations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist victims and prosecutors with victim health information needs by preparing medical releases and release of information to speak with other agencies that are providing services to victims.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate victims&#8217; right to defendant HIV\/STD testing.<\/li>\n<li>Assist prosecutors in cases with victim-related needs.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and files court documents as directed by the DDA.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates victim schedule for meetings, grand jury, trial, and other court hearings.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information by telephone and\/or by letter to named victims of law enforcement investigations which are declined for prosecution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong><u>MFA: Manage Grants<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><u>Essential Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Support Program Manager in writing and managing local, state, and federal grants including compiling statistics for grant reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support in training and working with victim services interns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Minimum Qualifications<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED<\/li>\n<li>4 years of experience in the field of Human or Social Services, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, Victim&#8217;s Outreach Services, Community Projects or Community Justice or an equivalent combination of education or experience.<\/li>\n<li>Must have, or obtain, Notary Public certification within the first month of employment.<\/li>\n<li>Must have, or obtain valid ODL, within the first month of employment with acceptable driving record.<\/li>\n<li>Must successfully complete the State Victim Assistance Academy, Basic Victim Advocacy Certification within the first year of employment.<\/li>\n<li>Requires successful completion of a criminal background investigation and ongoing compliance with Federal, State and Local statutes.<\/li>\n<li>Spanish bilingual proficiency required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.joinhandshake.com\/jobs\/1764975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View more details and learn how to apply on Handshake.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bilingual Crime Victim Advocate provides services to crime victims in Spanish and English by assisting victims as they exercise their rights and utilize available services.
