Rural Community Immersion\u00a0Project Half Block<\/b><\/h2>\n

What\u2019s this class about?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Would you like to be part a team immersed in a Colorado rural community and grounded in service-learning theory, with the goal of developing community projects that connect schooling and economic development? This Dynamic Half Block will take place initially at Colorado College, then relocate on January 9 to Springfield, Colorado, located in the Southeastern corner of the state.<\/p>\n

CC students will team up with ten students from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Each team will be assigned a community and school, meet with students, teachers and community members to develop a strategic plan for school and community improvement.<\/strong> Here is the good news.\u00a0Students who participate in this Dynamic Half Block will receive a $1,000 stipend at the completion of the proposal (January 18)<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Housing, food, and transportation are covered. Students must apply in person to Dr. Mike Taber. Email Dr. Taber at\u00a0mrtaber@coloradocollege.edu<\/a>\u00a0to make an appointment.<\/p>\n

All of Half Block: January 7-18, with class largely located in Springfield, Colorado.<\/p>\n
