Multiple Divisions<\/strong>
\nThe Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and
\nbudgetary analysis to the Congress. CBO is seeking several assistant analysts to work in various
\ndivisions. Specific duties vary by division, but most include research assistance, statistical
\nanalysis, database management, graphics production, literature review, and quality assurance.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications<\/span><\/strong>
\nCandidates for this<\/span>\u00a0position must have the following:
\n\u2022 A bachelor\u2019s degree in economics or a related discipline by June 2019.
\n\u2022 A strong academic background in economics, mathematics, statistics, finance, computer
\nscience, or a related field with economics coursework.
\n\u2022 Strong quantitative skills and experience with statistical analysis.
\n\u2022 Demonstrated proficiency with at least one statistical software package or programming
\nlanguage (such as Python, MATLAB, Stata, R, or SAS).
\n\u2022 Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
\n\u2022 Attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, perseverance, the ability to
\nwork both independently and collaboratively, and a desire to work on issues of current interest
\nto the Congress.<\/p>\n

This is an entry-level position for a period not to exceed three years\u2014ideal for those interested in
\nsubstantive work experience before attending graduate school. The position is only for candidates
\nwho have or are completing a bachelor\u2019s degree; it is not for those who are have or are
\ncompleting a master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n

Salary and Benefits<\/strong>
\nThe starting salary range is $42,000 to $48,000 and will be commensurate with related
\nexperience. CBO offers excellent benefits and a collegial, respectful work environment.<\/p>\n
