CDE Analysis Shows Achievement Data An Indicator of College Readiness From As Early as Sixth-Grade

Anyone interested in assessment will be interested in the new report from the Colorado Department of Education and the Department of Higher Education. The study shows that students who need remediation or who were on track toward postsecondary readiness could have been identified by looking at CSAP scores from as early as sixth grade. If you have thoughts or ideas about the study and findings, co-authors Cheryl.Lovell@dhe.state.co.us and lefly_d@cde.state.co.us would be delighted to hear from you.  The departments anticipate a healthy discussion on the value of state-wide assessments and using those data to identify and support students in need of remediation earlier in the educational pipeline (i.e., before entering the postsecondary community, if possible).
