Students: Participate in Study on Long COVID, Win $100 Amazon Gift Card
The CC Post-COVID-19 Research Group is conducting a research study about the impact of long COVID symptoms on the physical and mental health and everyday lives of college-aged students. Findings may help to provide effective support for CC students recovering from COVID-19. Click on this link to participate in the study. Participants will be asked to fill in a 12-minute anonymous survey. Participants may enter their email address into a separate form to be entered into a drawing for one of 10 $100 Amazon gift cards. All CC students who are at least 18 years old are eligible to participate. Please contact Professor Andrea Bruder at abruder@coloradocollege.edu with any questions.

Feeling Sick or Were Exposed? Get Tested
The CDC recommends testing 5 days after exposure. If you found yourself in busy or crowded indoor settings this past weekend, please self-monitor for symptoms and test on Thursday or Friday. CC students, faculty, and staff may pick up test kits at the Worner Desk, Tutt Library, and residence hall front desks while supplies are available.
Faculty and staff may report positive test results here: https://coloradocollege.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5C6Ug3FRWvuKnBQ
Students should use eMed to test, as eMed handles all required reporting for CC. The Student Health Center will continue to provide symptomatic testing during the summer.

COVID Cases on the Rise
Case numbers and hospitalizations are rising nationwide. The Director of CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, urged people in counties with high transmission, including El Paso County, to mask in indoor public spaces, avoid large indoor gatherings, and test prior to gathering indoors and if you’re not feeling well. People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
Due to an increase in COVID-19 in infections and hospitalizations, CDC recommends a second booster dose for those 50 and older who received their first booster dose more than four months prior, and those 12 and older with immune deficiencies. There is also updated booster guidance for those ages 5 and up. Not sure if you are due for a booster? There’s an app for that.

FAQ: I’ve just had COVID. Can I get reinfected?
Yes. New Omicron strains called “sublineages” are quite good at evading our immune responses. As population immunity from previous waves wanes, public health experts think that we will see more re-infections. To protect yourself from reinfection, CDC recommends staying up to date with vaccination, wearing a well-fitting mask, and making sure that indoor spaces are well ventilated.

Check the COVID-19 Dashboard
The COVID Weekly Report will be on pause during the summer months. The college will provide updates on Summer and Fall 2022 COVID protocols as those are determined. Please reference information on the CC dashboard to make your own decisions. Masks remain an important tool for mitigation, and we encourage you to wear a mask indoors when case numbers are high and you are more likely to encounter the virus. The dashboard provides quick access to COVID-19 metrics on campus, including daily and weekly COVID-19 testing numbers and positive test results. Please note that we were informed by the county health department that the data on their website regarding the number of new infections is not reliable because most infections are now detected through at-home testing, which is not included in the data. For questions regarding this dashboard, please contact Ben Moffitt in the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness.
