When we express gratitude we can improve our health, mood, confidence, and sense of connectedness. I’m thrilled to report that many in our community are doing just that – and there’s room to do more.
Since the beginning of Block 2, staff and faculty have submitted over 160 Gratitude Gift nominations. By nominating coworkers, you can recognize fellow staff and faculty for the positive impact they have on those around them and the college as a whole.
Because of the generosity of our donors, we can extend Gratitude Gifts through Block 3. I encourage you to nominate your colleagues.
We started Gratitude Gifts last spring after two anonymous donors, inspired by what they heard in Project 2024 discussions, provided funding for this way to spread appreciation. In the spring, more than 300 people were recognized by their colleagues.
To nominate a colleague to receive a Gratitude Gift, email a short note (50 words or less) with the following to gratitudegifts@coloradocollege.edu:
Subject line: I appreciate [first name]
Name of the CC employee you are nominating
Short explanation (50 words maximum) of why you appreciate this person
*Please send one email per nomination, as your email will be shared with the recipient.
Nominees will choose from a $10 gift card to use at Bon Appetit outlets on campus or a $10 gift card for use at the CC Bookstore.
The recipient will be notified by email of receiving a Gratitude Gift and where to pick it up. There is a limit of one gift per nominated person so more people can benefit.
Thank you for sharing this positive and affirming practice, one of the many ways we can help build a thriving CC community. Thanks again to the donors who make Gratitude Gifts possible.
Sincerely,
