Welcome to the second half of the academic year!
It was so wonderful to gather with about 250 staff and faculty at our Spring Conference last Friday, and it was my honor to announce the winners of this year’s President’s Leadership Awards:
- Christina Leza, associate professor of Anthropology, received the Victor Nelson-Cisneros Award for Diversity and Inclusion.
- Campus Safety received the Glenn Brooks Award for Innovation and Courage.
- Susan Grace, lecturer/artist-in-residence, associate chair of Music, and music director of the CC Summer Music Festival, and April Scriven, manager of office operations services, Mail Center, tied to receive the Jane Cauvel Award for Collaboration and Community Building.
- Brenda Soto, assistant vice president, College Events, and Weston Taylor, User Support Services, Outreach Team Lead, ITS: Solutions Center, tied to win the Brian Young Community Service Award.
Congratulations to these leaders, who help our campus to thrive. Congratulations also to all who were nominated. Many thanks to those who took the time to recognize colleagues by submitting nominations.
