Don’t Forget the LGBTQ+ Basics Workshop Tomorrow!

Join us tomorrow for this exciting course, which introduces participants to foundational terminology and key LGBTQ+ concepts. We will review the differences between sexual orientation and gender identity, and explain what it means to identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. We will also explore best practices for engaging with the LGBTQ+ community, the importance of pronouns, tips for supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues, and allyship strategies.

Time: 9 a.m.-noon

Where: JLK McHugh Commons

All Colorado College community members are invited to participate. Registration is limited to 50 participants (first come, first served) and breakfast will be provided. Join us for this event.

About the presenter:

Johnny Humphrey, MBA, is the director of inclusivity services at The Center on Colfax and leads the agency’s RANGE Consulting program. Humphrey has over a decade of IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility) experience and was a recipient of the 2020 Inclusion@Work Award by the Center for Legal Inclusion. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and is a member of Colorado’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.
