Question: What action steps can you take to prepare for graduate school applications?

Are you planning to apply for graduate school? Here are some action steps to help prepare you for graduate school applications over the summer:

  • Finalize what graduate school program and institutions you would like to apply to. The Career Center staff, its graduate school guide, and faculty members can help you make this decision.
  • Once you have decided what programs and institutions to apply to, consider the application requirements, including:
    • Application deadlines
    • Application materials, such as personal statements, letters of recommendation, and CVs
    • Standardized exam scores
  • If necessary, prepare for standardized exams, such as the GRE. This can be done by accessing free and second-hand exam prep resources. Additionally, the Career Center offers Kaplan test prep classes for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT.
For additional support, contact your faculty advisor, schedule an appointment with a career consultant for graduate school advising on Handshake, or connect with the advising hub for pre-law or pre-med advising.
