Building Into the Future: Crown Educational Development Day
May 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Tim Fuller Event Space, Tutt Library
Register Now
This day-long gathering is open to all faculty and staff with a desire to engage the ways we prepare our students to enter the lives, careers, and communities they will engage after college. Through presentations, discussions, and workshops, we will consider ways we currently approach world readiness at CC and how we might authentically connect such preparation to curricular elements across our liberal arts curriculum. Our guests will be Christina Rader and Lora Louise Broady from Economics and Business, and Corina McKendry from Political Science and Environmental Studies. Our keynote facilitator will be Ashley Finley, Vice President for Research and Senior Advisor to the President of AAC&U.
Morning coffee service and lunch will be provided.
Block Break Breakfasts
4th Thursdays: 8:30-10:30 a.m. in Cossitt Commons
Responding to a request for more informal space to converse about all-things teaching, the CCT will begin hosting Block Break breakfasts. Come grab a bagel and some coffee or tea. Join your Crown Center colleagues for an informal conversation about the Block just finished or yet to come. Use it as an excuse to catch up with others and/or delay your grading. No RSVP required.
Call for Participation: New Faculty Orientation
We will again highlight the expertise and experience of our faculty and academic staff throughout the Fall 2024 New Faculty Orientation. In particular, we seek participants for a sessison titled “Active Learning & Inclusive Pedagogies on The Block Plan.” Do you have a classroom activity or approach that you’d like to share and workshop with our new colleaguges? Please email Crown Director, Ryan Banagale, with ideas and for more information.
Additional Planning for Next Year
Are you interested in leading a workshop? Is there a topic you’d like to learn more about?
The CCT relies on the internal expertise of faculty, staff, and students for educational workshops or information sessions in all areas. If you would like to offer a workshop or make a suggestion for one, please complete this workshop proposal form and the CCT director will contact you.
