National Voter Registration Day, the nation’s largest single-day voter registration initiative, takes place next week on September 17. Despite widespread eligibility, approximately one-quarter of Americans are not registered to vote. Each year, millions of individuals are disenfranchised due to easily rectifiable issues such as missed registration deadlines or outdated address information. To address this challenge, National Voter Registration Day was established in 2012 and has since become a cornerstone of voter engagement efforts.
