We want to thank everyone who exercised their civic duty this week and participated in the recent election. We recognize that election outcomes can evoke a range of emotions, and in these moments, we are presented with the opportunity to reaffirm CC’s commitment to embracing diverse perspectives and empathy.
At its core, the goal of the liberal arts is to prepare active and responsible citizens within our campus, community, country, and beyond. Engaging thoughtfully in the democratic process means not only participating in voting, but also sustained learning from multiple academic disciplines and staying involved with issues we care about between elections. Nonpartisan, on-campus resources to help you connect with the causes and organizations meaningful to you are available through the Collaborative for Community Engagement.
Our commitment to healthy communities extends beyond Election Day to include how we support and engage with one another in our daily interactions. We ask you to honor our CC commitments to integrity and respect, using this time to listen to one another as a reminder of the strength we find in holding and sharing different perspectives.
