Winter Commencement honors and celebrates students completing their undergraduate studies prior to our May Commencement ceremony.

This year’s ceremony will feature remarks from Interim President Manya Whitaker, with a Commencement address from Dr. M. Nickie Coomer, CC Assistant Professor of Education and the current holder of the Manya Whitaker Professorship in Education. Interim President Whitaker will also lead the presentation of graduates and awarding of diplomas.

RSVP Needed for Graduating Students
Students graduating at Winter Commencement must RSVP no later than Friday, Dec. 6 to Keragan Ettleman at kettleman@coloradocollege.edu to ensure they are included in the reading of names during the ceremony.

Cap and Gown Pick Up
Graduates, Winter Commencement is an official ceremony that requires regalia. Please pick up your cap and gown from the CC Bookstore on Thursday, Dec. 12 or Friday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please note: Any graduate who has not picked up a cap and gown will not be allowed to march in the Commencement ceremony.

Mandatory Rehearsal
Graduates must attend a mandatory rehearsal immediately before Commencement. Please arrive at Shove Memorial Chapel by noon on Sunday, Dec. 15 to walk through the ceremony. We ask that you please be prompt so we can efficiently address last-minute details and confirm name pronunciations. Once the rehearsal concludes at 12:30 p.m., doors will open for guests.

Graduate Highlights
The President’s Office and the Office of Communications and Marketing plan to highlight some of the achievements and involvements represented among this outstanding group of graduates. Please email clawler@coloradocollege.edu“> Caryn Lawler, Director of Executive Communications, by Wednesday, Dec. 11, with a brief highlight you would like featured (such as athletic or club involvement, study abroad experience, community service, unique research project, internship, or post-graduation plans). Your highlight may be shared as part of Interim President Whitaker’s Winter Commencement remarks, as a shoutout on social media, in Around the Block, or in the Winter Commencement story on the CC website. 

Photographs
A professional photographer from Grad Images will be onsite at Shove Memorial Chapel to take individual photos of graduates in cap and gown prior to the ceremony, from 11 a.m. to noon on Dec. 15. Graduates may bring family or other guests to have group pictures taken as well. Photos will be available for purchase approximately two weeks after the event at www.gradimages.com.

Guest Attendance
CC warmly welcomes families, friends, and supporters of graduates, as well as current faculty, staff, and students, to attend Winter Commencement. No RSVP is required for guests.

Livestream
For those unable to attend the ceremony in person, Winter Commencement will be livestreamed at www.coloradocollege.edu/live beginning at 1 p.m. MT on Sunday, Dec. 15.
