CC’s Biggest Celebration of the Year is Just Days Away: Commencement 2025!

Below are the what, when, and where for the events you might want to know about during Commencement Weekend.
|
- Baccalaureate, Saturday, May 17, 3 p.m., Shove Memorial Chapel
This event kicks off Commencement Weekend with a chance to reflect and express gratitude. Eric Popkin, Associate Professor of Sociology, will give this year’s Baccalaureate Address. Don’t forget, today is the deadline to submit Baccalaureate Blessings to be displayed on the jumbotron in Ed Robson Arena during Commencement. Instructions and ideas for how to submit a message can be found on our website.
- Commencement, Sunday, May 18, 8:30 a.m., Ed Robson Arena
(Doors will open to guests at 7 a.m.) This is the culmination of the academic year, and a time to honor the graduates of the Class of 2025. Mike Shum ’07 will deliver the Commencement Address.

NOTE: Baccalaureate and Commencement are open only to graduates and ticketed guests. A livestream for both ceremonies will be available online.
|
|
|
Post-Commencement President’s Reception
|
Immediately following Commencement at approximately 11 a.m., the entire campus community is invited to attend a reception hosted by Interim President Manya Whitaker on Tava Quad until approximately 12:30 p.m.
|
Staff and Faculty Commencement Tickets
|
Staff and faculty who are not marching or volunteering may request a ticket by emailing Harris Varnum at hvarnum2023@coloradocollege.edu. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit one ticket per person.
Remember, by accepting this ticket, you agree to the guidelines set out in the College’s Freedom of Expression Policy. In addition, please remember that Ed Robson Arena has a clear bag policy that will be enforced for all Commencement guests and no empty bottles, cans, or containers of ANY kind will be permitted into Ed Robson Arena.

Parking and Road Closures
|
Commencement attendees may park anywhere on campus (no fees or permits apply), except the third floor of the Ed Robson Arena parking garage on East Dale Street. This area is reserved for guests with limited mobility who require parking close to the venue. Accessible parking is also available on all levels of the Ed Robson Arena parking garage and in other parking lots on campus as well. Golf carts will be available from parking areas across campus to transport guests to Ed Robson Arena.
On Sunday, May 18, expect traffic congestion in the area throughout the morning. The following roads will be closed for Commencement activities:

- Cache La Poudre St. from N. Nevada Ave. to N. Cascade Ave.
- N. Tejon St. from E. Dale St. to E. Cache La Poudre St.

Important Accessibility and Venue Details
|
Accessibility – CC welcomes individuals with disabilities. Please see the Commencement webpage for information on accessible parking and accommodations available within Ed Robson Arena.
Clear Bag Policy – Ed Robson Arena has a clear bag policy, which will be enforced during Commencement Weekend. Only clear bags and small clutch-sized purses will be allowed at entry. Read more about the clear bag policy. Clear bags can be purchased at the CC Bookstore. (Bookstore hours on Sunday, May 18: 6:30 a.m.–1 p.m.)
