Nominate a Student for the Newman Civic Fellowship |
|
The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-committed students who are changemakers and public problem-solvers. This national fellowship runs from fall semester of 2026 through spring semester of 2027. More details can be found on the Newman Civic Fellowship website. Nominations are due by midnight, Feb. 9. PEAK (Publicly Engaged Actionable Knowledge) Project |
|
Connect to a community partner to co-create community-engaged classroom projects for a summer 2026 course through the PEAK Project. Submit an Educator Interest Form by the end of Block 5, on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Upcoming Application and Withdrawal Deadlines for Study Away |
|
Blocks 5 and 6 contain several important study away application and withdrawal deadlines that you and your advisees should be aware of. These include the following:
|
- The withdrawal deadline for CC Summer in Spain is Monday, Feb. 16.
- The withdrawal deadline for all other CC Summer Off-Campus Blocks is Sunday, Mar. 1.
- Priority applications for fall 2026 and AY 2026-27 semester/year away programs are due Sunday, Mar. 1.
- The application deadline for all 2026-27 Off-Campus Blocks is Sunday, Mar. 15.

It’s PIFP Time |
|
Encourage students to apply for summer and yearlong fellowships through the Public Interest Fellowship Program (PIFP). Paid summer and yearlong post-grad fellowships are available ONLY to CC students. Students can make an impact in their community, test interest in the social sector, and gain essential workplace skills working in Colorado nonprofits. Refer students to the PIFP website and fellowship details in Handshake. All applications are due Friday, Mar. 6.

The next Build a Block Away Workshop will be on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2-4 p.m. in Armstrong 230. This interactive workshop will touch on all aspects of developing an off-campus block, including the proposal process, budgeting, itinerary-building, student recruitment, and best practices in study away and abroad.

The 2026 Study Away Fair will feature every CC faculty-led off-campus block, full and half-semester program for 2026-27 as well as representatives from 30+ partner-led semester and year-long study away opportunities. It will be held in the Worner Lobby on Thursday, Jan. 29, noon-2 p.m.
