Musical Guests Take the Stage at Inauguration

Colorado College will celebrate and honor its 14th president at L. Song Richardson’s inauguration ceremony on Monday, Aug. 29, the start of the new academic year. 

Professor of Music Ofer Ben-Amots composed the inaugural fanfare which will be performed by Benjamin Paille on trumpet, Ricky Sweum on saxophone, and Susan Grace, director of the Summer Music Festival and associate chair, artist-in-residence, and senior lecturer in music, on piano.

Jaiel Mitchell ’18 and Chidera Ikpeamarom ’22 will perform inspiring musical pieces, the CC Gamelan Orchestra will lead the recessional at the conclusion of the ceremony. 

We hope you’ll join the celebration on Monday, Aug. 29. The ceremony will take place on the Mainstage at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 8:45 a.m.

A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve tickets, visit the Worner Desk and show your CC Gold Card. Once tickets for theatre seating are gone, you can pick up tickets for limited seating in an overflow space at the FAC. You can also tune into coloradocollege.edu/inauguration for the livestream of the ceremony, or watch a recording after the event concludes.
