Faculty and Staff:
As you know, there have been several highly ranked law schools (Berkeley, Yale, Harvard) and medical schools (Michigan, Stanford, Columbia) who have publicly decided not to participate in the U.S. News and World Report rankings.
College presidents and deans cite many issues with the rankings; the overall sentiment is that USNWR uses a flawed methodology, prizes wealth and reputation over academic quality, and generally treats every college academic experience as the same. Many college and university presidents are now debating the merits of the rankings.
CC leaders are having the same discussions and input from faculty and staff will inform that thinking. Please answer the four questions in this survey.
College leaders will discuss this with staff at this week’s In the Loop Meeting, and well as with faculty at today’s meeting.
