I’m pleased to formally announce that Pedro de Araujo, dean of the college since 2022, has been offered, and accepted, the revised role of dean of the college and chief operating officer, effective July 1.
Pedro shared that he looks forward to serving in this new position:
“I am honored to support Colorado College in this expanded role. This is an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective to our college operations and procedures, aligning them to our institutional priorities, and fostering cross-divisional collaborations. This is also the time to treat college operations more holistically and align them with our student-centric campus. I look forward to serving CC in this position and am grateful to continue supporting our students as well.”
Pedro joined CC as an assistant professor of economics in 2008 and has served as associate dean of the college, vice provost, the college’s faculty athletics representative, chair of the Economics and Business Department, and the Knight Chair for the Study of Free Enterprise.
I am thrilled that Pedro will bring his dedication and knowledge to this position. Thank you for joining me in welcoming him to this new role.
Sincerely,
