Changes to Gold Card, Papercut Printing, and IT Tickets
Gold Card
The ITS Solutions Center is now in charge of printing Gold Cards as well as modifying door access for Gold Cards. Please use our new ticketing system (see below) to request card access changes going forward instead of submitting tickets to the Facilities work-order system (TMA). You’ll still use TMA for physical key requests.
The ITS Solutions Center is open Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and is on the first floor of Tutt Library.
ITS Tickets
We are excited to announce our new and improved ticketing system for IT support on campus: Service Desk Plus. This system is designed to streamline and enhance the process of reporting and resolving technical requests and issues.
Log into Service Desk Plus via the “IT Ticket” option on the single sign in menu to submit new tickets, see updated status on tickets you may have open, and look at past tickets. You will also receive emails from the new system, which will be from “IT Service Requests” (servicerequests@coloradocollege.edu)
We will continue to accept emails sent to its@coloradocollege.edu, calls at x6449, and walk-ins at the ITS Solutions Center, but our preference is for you to use Service Desk Plus. By submitting a ticket through the new system, you help us maintain organized records and ensure a systematic approach to problem resolution.
Papercut Printing
Next week we will begin rolling out a new way to print to Papercut printers called Papercut Hive. This new method is easy to set up and use and should be more reliable and faster than the current method. You’ll release print jobs with your mobile phone or with an access code instead of using your gold card.
Phase 1 of the rollout will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 30. That afternoon, you will receive an email invitation with brief instructions on how to set up Hive. Make sure you keep this email handy so you can set it up on multiple devices and have your personalized code ready to reference.
During phase 2, over the next few weeks, we will go building by building to convert the rest of the papercut printers to Hive over the next few weeks. Please note that direct printing will not change.
Hive printers will have a green sign that is easy to distinguish. You can release on those printers via Hive but not via the old papercut method. Thanks for your patience during this transition.
