Welcome to the first newsletter from Experiential Education @ Colorado College or EE@CC.
We are excited to announce a new collaborative effort at CC, bringing together several offices dedicated to experiential and applied learning, including the Center for Global Education & Field Study, the Career Center, the Collaborative for Community Engagement, the Office of Sustainability, and their affiliated programs. While not physically co-located, this joint initiative unites programs such as community-engaged learning, global education, field study, internships, and applied classroom and research experiences into a single, powerful network designed to support and enhance student learning in and alongside the classroom.
Our offices will continue to provide resources, support, and advocacy, helping students learn from their experiences in local and global communities. By working more closely together, we aim to highlight and promote the broad spectrum of opportunities available. We have launched a new webpage and are developing easier pathways for students to discover these opportunities.
In this first edition of our joint newsletter, you will find exciting upcoming workshops and events, important deadlines, and other helpful information. We hope you will keep your eyes out each second Tuesday of the block for a new CC@EE newsletter.

Let’s Get Started! Career Center Fall Workshop Series
Whether you are applying for an on-campus job, updating your resume for a summer internship, or preparing for upcoming interviews, now is the time to get started to make sure you are search ready. Come to our upcoming workshops scheduled four times a block all semester from 4-5 p.m. on a variety of Tuesdays and Thursdays. CC Votes
National Voter Education Week is Oct. 7-11. This national civic holiday equips voters with the tools and information needed to cast their ballots with confidence. CC will host a Voter Service and Polling Center along with a Ballot Box for this upcoming general election. CC Votes partners with local organizations to share information on candidates and ballot measures. Davis Projects for Peace Application
Davis Projects for Peace is an initiative for students to design grassroots summer projects – anywhere in the world – which promote peace and address the root causes of conflict among parties. E-Waste Drop-Off Event
Did you know that CC offers an e-waste recycling program? Since many electronic devices contain toxic materials that can harm the environment if disposed of improperly, we have partnered with ITS and E-Tech Recyclers, a family-owned local facility, to provide a responsible way to recycle unwanted or non-working electronics.
Upcoming Drop-Off Event: Join us for our Block 2 E-waste drop-off on Oct. 7, 3-4:30 p.m. at Breton Hall Garage #8 (northwest corner of Parking Lot C-1). Our team will be on-site to assist you with unloading.
Future Drop-Off Events: We host five events each year during Blocks 4, 6, and 8 and once over the summer break.

It is not too late for students to join a Spring 2025 study abroad program. The 2-block half semester programs in China, Italy, or Kyrgyzstan are open for applications through Dec. 1. These programs fulfill the CC language requirement, offer courses at various levels, and give you the chance to spend two months overseas. Even better, for students who live on campus with a full meal plan this spring, these programs come with no program fee. All program charges, including airfare, are covered by your standard spring tuition, room and board charges.
You can learn about each program, the courses they offer, any prerequisites, and where they will visit by checking out the Semester Away Webpage and looking under “CC-led Semesters.”
Four Corners Fund
Have a project centered on the Colorado Plateau/Four Corners area? Consider the Four Corners Fund. The criteria for the fund are as follows:
Projects from all disciplinary areas are encouraged. Projects should have built in reciprocity, critical engagement with organizations and individuals local to the region that center the region’s Native sovereign issues, conservation issues, and/or community engagement, etc. Applications should also outline the reporting plan/final presentation in a way that is appropriate to the project.

Student Campus Compost Program
Our program supports both on- and off-campus households interested in composting by providing materials, training, and education. Ready to get started? Fill out our online form to receive your compost bucket today! To participate, households or dorms must commit to composting correctly, dispose of the contents in their compost bin consistently, and pay a small deposit, which will be refunded in full upon returning the bucket and lid at the end of the year.
Travel Surveys: Help Us Calculate Our Emissions!
As part of our annual reporting on the college’s mission, we calculate emissions from student travel and staff/faculty commuting behaviors. Your input is crucial for accurately assessing our college’s emissions. Surveys close on Oct. 16! Each survey takes about five minutes to complete.
Students: Please take a moment to fill out our anonymous student survey about your habits when traveling home. We’d like to know where home is, how often you travel there, and what methods of transportation you use.
