Since 2004, CC has used Banner as a central part of our IT infrastructure. Ellucian, the company that makes Banner, has announced that it will be ending support for our current version in the near future. Ellucian’s planned migration to cloud infrastructure will eliminate support for our current Banner system, including essential college functions such as course registration, payroll, financial aid, and more.
As such, we will have to change systems and prepare for the transition. We are using this change as a chance to review options and ensure we have the best technology to meet our current needs. As Ellucian phases out on-premise support for Banner, we must ensure that our systems can continue to meet the evolving needs of our campus community.
This shift presents a critical opportunity to modernize and align the institution’s technology infrastructure with evolving needs. The ongoing assessment involves gathering input from key departments such as HR, Finance, Student Success, Admissions, Registrar, and Advancement to evaluate current system usage, departmental requirements, and the appetite for enhanced analytics and insights. The ERP Readiness Assessment will involve gathering input from faculty, staff, and students, to evaluate our current systems, processes, and technology. This assessment is a critical step in preparing for a transition away from our current Banner system.
