Join us this January by engaging in the Week of Action, Jan. 13-17, 2025, as we celebrate MLK Day and continue to celebrate our Sesquicentennial! Week of Action is a week of opportunities and events that aim to mobilize and inspire staff and faculty to engage in local community-based work and build community.

We encourage departmental teams and individuals to join us for a 2–3-hour community engagement activity. To express interest as a team or individually, please complete this form by Friday, Nov. 1.

Stroud Scholars is currently seeking faculty to teach Writing and Quantitative Reasoning courses for high school students during the July 2025 Summer Program. Find out more and apply by October 30. 

Stroud Scholars prepares students for selective college environments by working directly with high promise youth to provide academic preparation, mentorship, and guidance navigating admissions and financial aid processes to CC and beyond. A signature component of the program is the summer experience, including college preparatory classes co-taught by one CC educator and one educator with high school teaching experience.

The deadline for initial proposals for an Off-Campus Block Away for the 2025-26 Academic Year was Friday, Oct. 25. However, if you have a course which is not a new proposal but a returning course, and you missed the deadline, please reach out to abertsche@coloradocollege.edu“> Allen Bertsche, as a late approval may be possible.

The election is a week away and today is Vote Early Day. CC is dedicated to helping every eligible voter in our community cast their ballot this fall. Cast your ballot today and be part of a national movement to celebrate the act of voting early. Head to the CC Votes site to learn more about how to vote early, options for voting on campus, and resources to learn about what’s on your ballot.

We are looking for stories from your field trips to share on our Instagram! Please consider sending photos and short video clips, along with captions telling the story of experiential education as it happened on your field trips. Reach out to Drew Cavin if you have stories you want to share.

Develop an idea into a block away and learn about budgeting, staffing, and building off-campus blocks in this hands-on workshop.  We will be hosting two workshops in the coming weeks.  The first will be from 2-4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, and the second will be 2:30-4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 during Half-Block. Please RSVP to Allen Bertsche ahead of the date for either workshop.

Please encourage your students and advisees to attend the Summer Away Fair on Thursday, Nov. 21 in the Worner Lobby from noon-2 p.m. Students can drop in at any point to speak with representatives of all eleven faculty-led CC Summer Off-Campus Blocks. Representatives will introduce their courses and discuss the program destinations and educational goals of each class. The eleven programs this year include new courses in Cabo Verde, Greece, France, Ireland and Scotland, and the Western United States, as well as returning courses in Bali, Berlin, Italy, London, and Spain.

EcoFund is available from the OoS to staff, faculty, and administration to support projects, events, and research initiatives. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with proposals eligible for funding up to $3,000 each. The mission of the fund is to promote the implementation of campus sustainability initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Learn how to apply today!
