Olivia Spencer ’25 is graduating this Sunday, Dec. 15 after an exciting four years. Spencer’s time at CC has taken her across the globe, including a semester abroad at the University of Auckland, a block abroad in Costa Rica, and extended research in the Czech Republic with Dr. Miro Kummel, Professor and Chair of CC’s Environmental Program. Spencer collaborated with Kummel and Dr. Marek Baxa, from ENKI in the Czech Republic, for her senior thesis, focusing on the dynamics of shallow lakes and their stable alternative states. Outside of academics, Spencer has been a key leader in Outdoor Education as a kayak instructor and whitewater coordinator. She also showcased her musical talents as a member of the Chamber Chorus and CC Choir.

Ren Coryell ’25 is a transfer student who spent the last two and a half years at CC. During their time at CC, Ren co-founded The Queer and Trans Collective in collaboration with the Butler Center. This initiative fosters community, advocates for queer and trans students, and educates the broader campus on LGBTQIA+ issues. In recognition of their impactful work, Ren received the Ginger Morgan Legacy Award for Feminist and LGBTQIA+ Initiatives last May.

Ashley Stewart ’25 has been a dedicated student-athlete on the Division 1 Women’s Soccer team and a member of the Dean’s List. With plans to continue playing soccer professionally overseas after graduation, Stewart is also pursuing a career in the sports industry. Her thesis research focuses on competitive balance in European women’s soccer, reflecting her passion for advancing the sport on and off the field.

Our clinic team will include a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, medical assistant, and medical receptionist, all here to support your health needs. Starting Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, you can make an appointment by calling 719-389-6384. We’ll continue to offer a variety of primary care services, including same-day appointments.

CC has been recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting. The honor recognizes colleges and universities for outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation. CC joins a group of 471 colleges and universities recognized by ALL IN for participating in the challenge. Through an intentionally-designed program that provides structure, support, and recognition, ALL IN works to improve civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation on more than 1,075 campuses nationwide. ALL IN believes higher education should play a role in developing an active and informed citizenry by educating students, motivating them to engage in American democracy, and instilling the value of lifelong participation.

Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”
