Block 5 Staff Council Meeting Summary

Staff Council’s Block 5 Meeting was held on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Here are some key points for your information:

Welcome Newly Elected Staff Council Members:

Staff Council and Faculty Executive Committee (FEC) Partnership:

The FEC and Staff Council partnered with the Office of Institutional Equity and Belonging and The Office of the Dean of the Faculty to launch the pilot semester of the Building Bridges program with 51 participating faculty members and 59 participating staff!

This program is designed to pair participating staff and faculty for engagement across departments and divisions so that participants can gain a deeper understanding of how all of the roles on campus fit together to create a thriving campus environment.

If you did not participate in this pilot semester, please watch for an email in Block 1 with information on participating in Building Bridges in the Fall of 2025.

Reminder about Questions Submitted to the Staff Council Website:

When questions are submitted to the “Ask Staff Council” webpage, they are forwarded to Cabinet or other appropriate parties for an answer. Once we have that answer, we post it to the same webpage at the bottom.
You are welcome to ask questions anonymously, but if you do include your name and contact info, we will send the answer we receive directly to you.
Don’t forget to submit your questions for Block 5 In the Loop by the end of the day today, Friday, Feb. 7.
