Thank you to those who attended last week’s Work of the College Series event to learn more about Colorado College’s Institutional Review. As we continue our work with Baker Tilly, I want to follow up with more details about the anticipated project timeline, the new-year campus visit, and ways you can engage throughout this important process.
The project timeline includes several key phases:
|
- Fieldwork Phase (Winter 2025-2026): Our partners at Baker Tilly are beginning to gather information to build a comprehensive baseline understanding of current resource allocations and program alignment. Many of you have already been involved in sending information to their team—thank you!
- December: Baker Tilly is currently conducting interviews with the President’s Cabinet to capture leadership perspectives.
- Late January: Several Baker Tilly consultants will be on campus to conduct interviews and focus groups with staff, faculty, and students from across the College. These conversations will be essential to gaining a broad and nuanced view of the College’s operations. Invitations and more information will be sent to those with whom the team will be meeting in early January.
- Analysis Phase (Winter-Spring 2026): Baker Tilly will continue their analysis with additional opportunities for staff and faculty engagement, including an all-employee survey to invite input from across the campus community. This confidential survey will supplement interviews and help build an understanding of our existing operations and priorities. Behind the scenes, the consulting team will simultaneously conduct peer benchmarking and significant quantitative data analysis during this time. This phase is projected to last February through April, though the timing may evolve as the firm explores the data and insights.
- Reporting Phase (Spring-Summer 2026): Baker Tilly will prepare a draft report to be shared with College leadership before their thematic recommendations are shared with the broader campus community. Reporting is expected to begin in late May, and timing will remain flexible to ensure the outcomes meet our needs and yield usable results for the College.

Your participation is critical to the success of this review. In addition to interviews and focus groups, the all-hands survey will provide a valuable opportunity for everyone to share their perspectives. As we’ve shared, Baker Tilly and College leadership remain committed to transparency and will keep you informed as the work progresses. Please feel free to reach out to my office as questions arise.
Thank you for your continued engagement and partnership as we work together to strengthen Colorado College in preparation for the future.
Sincerely,
|
Dean of the College and Chief Operating Officer
