Robson Arena Events Impacting Campus

Robson Arena is hosting high school graduations again this year, which will include road closures. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, May 18:
|
- D11 rehearsals from 7:15 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- No road closures; grads have been instructed to park in the garage
|
- Roads closed (hockey road closure: Cache la Poudre from Cascade to Nevada, Dale from Tejon to Nevada, and Tejon from Dale to Cache) from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
- Palmer HS graduation 9 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m.)
- Mitchell HS graduation 3 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m.)

- Roads closed (hockey road closure: Cache la Poudre from Cascade to Nevada, Dale from Tejon to Nevada, and Tejon from Dale to Cache) from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Coronado HS graduation at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m.)
- Doherty HS graduation at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m.)

- Roads closed (hockey road closure: Cache la Poudre from Cascade to Nevada, Dale from Tejon to Nevada, and Tejon from Dale to Cache) from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Combined Achieve, Bijou, Tesla HS graduations at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m.)
- Odyssey HS graduation at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m.)

- GOAL HS graduation at 10 a.m. (doors open at 9 a.m.)
- Roads closed 7:45 a.m.-1 p.m. (“T” around building—Cache from Cascade to Nevada, Tejon from Dale to Cache)
- The metered spots on Tejon and Dale will be reserved for high school staff and ADA parking.

During these events, the metered spots on Tejon and Dale will be hooded. Spectators have been told that ParkMobile parking is available in the Robson Garage, W-8, E-1, and C-1 lots.
During road closures, CC permit holders for the Robson Garage, Armstrong Lot, and Spencer Lot should enter the area via Cascade Avenue and Cache La Poudre Street. A CC Campus Safety officer will be stationed there to assist with access.
Permits must be displayed for entry at Cascade and Cache La Poudre. Vehicles without visible permits will not be allowed through.

On Monday, June 1, Campus Safety will cut the locks off all bikes left on campus. If you are staying for the summer or riding your bike to work, please store it elsewhere on that day. Campus Safety will not be liable for cut locks. All bikes collected on June 1 will be stored for 30 days (until July 1) and then donated.
If you don’t plan to keep your bike and wish to donate it, you can donate it to the CC Bike & Ski Co-op. To do so, please bring your bike to the Campus Safety Office, located at Boettcher, 1106 N. Cascade Ave, or the Outdoor Education Center. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Campus Safety at (719) 389-6707 or email campussafety@coloradocollege.edu.

Molly Moran, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science, has been awarded the Robert C. Fox Endowed Professorship. The professorship honors a faculty member for their broad impact in teaching, scholarship, and service to the College. The professorship was established from the bequest from the estate of Robert C. Fox ’58.
|
Mike Siddoway has been honored with the Excellence in Community Engaged Teaching Award by the Center for Community Engagement. Dr. Siddoway has been teaching in the LACF (Liberal Arts in Correction Facilities) Program, a program started by Professor Carol Neel in 2017, almost from the start. This program allows young offenders (aged 19-25) the opportunity to take free college courses that will transfer to any public college in the state. These courses are taught at the Youthful Offender System (YOS) Prison in Pueblo.

Colorado College is known for experiential learning, so when students were studying the impact of World War II on Japanese Americans in Hawaii, it is no surprise that they ended up in Hawaii, having intimate conversations with descendants of Americans of Japanese Ancestry (AJA) World War II veterans.
Before traveling to Hawaii, students in From Pearl Harbor to Honouliuli learned about Pearl Harbor and examined the different hardships Japanese Americans faced during WWII. They analyzed the role of the military in Hawaii, discussed the legacy of WWII in present time, and learned how to ask questions.

Shake Things Up Before Jagged Little Pill

Before the curtain rises on Jagged Little Pill, guests are invited to a hands-on cocktail lab led by a professional mixologist. Learn the basics of balance, flavor, and flair as you craft a custom cocktail or mocktail inspired by the bold spirit of the show.
