Kaviya Chidambaram ’27 is helping fisherwomen in Chennai, India, fight climate displacement, funded by a $10,000 Davis Project for Peace award.

“The Davis Project for Peace grant allows me to bring something meaningful to a community partner and catalyze a shared vision for our community,” Chidambaram says. “I am so grateful to the Kathryn W. Davis Foundation and CC for investing in student leadership.”

Everybody Welcome™: A Celebration of Culture and Diversity comes to Armstrong Hall on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This free, family-friendly festival will feature live music, cultural performances, traditional dance, ethnic foods, craft vendors, workshops, community discussions, cultural villages, and hands-on activities for children.

This year’s theme, “History Speaks, Future Listens,” connects the region’s rich cultural heritage with America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th year of statehood. Presented by the Pikes Peak Diversity Council, Everybody Welcome, and Imagination Celebration’s What IF… Festival, the event honors the people, traditions, and stories that have shaped Colorado Springs, the Pikes Peak region, Colorado, and the nation.

Do you know of someone who deserves to be inducted into the Colorado College Athletics Hall of Fame? If yes, now is the perfect time to submit a nomination. Nominations are accepted year-round; however, to be considered for the following year’s induction class, nominations must be received by Saturday, Aug. 1. 

Complete the Hall of Fame Nomination Form by Aug. 1 to be eligible for the Class of 2027.

Six students competed at the USA Climbing 2026 Collegiate Climbing Nationals in late May, earning three medals and making a name for themselves.

Despite being a small team, CC placed fifth out of 99 at the competition, with a score of 3843.5, and won the Team Speed event. They placed 31st in the Lead Team event and fourth in Boulder Team.

Downtown Tejon was a one-way street and Plaza of the Rockies was brand new when Boston native John Krakauer ’85 hit upon the idea that would change Colorado Springs—and his life.

Ice cream.

“It started when I was walking around downtown when I was a CC student and recognized that there was something missing,” he says. “It was ice cream like we have back in Boston.”

Students in CC’s Block 8 Career Catalyst “Wildfire Journalism & Ecology at Colorado Firecamp” traveled to Salida, Colorado, to study wildfire reporting, ecology, policy, and emergency response.
