Get to know CC student-athletes and celebrate their accomplishments during Division III Week.

This week, the National Collegiate Athletic Association celebrates Division III Week.

As the faculty athletics representative for the college, this week I will share information about the Division III philosophy and promote the accomplishments of our student-athletes. Here are some Division III facts.

Each day this week, I will be sending short emails highlighting a couple of our student-athletes. Also, if you know a student-athlete, ask him or her about DIII Week. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact me. Enjoy this showcase of our student-athletes and go Tigers!

Junior

Major: Mathematical Economics

Top CC Academic Moment/Accomplishment: Making the Dean’s List.

Special Talents/Skills: Sudoku and piano.

Hobbies: Spikeball, puzzling, Wordle, and softball.

Proudest Moment at CC: Going to the SCAC championship game two years in a row.

Community Service Experience: Volunteer basketball coach, Habitat for Humanity, volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.

Sophomore

Major: Political Science

Top Academic Award/Accomplishment: Receiving the Critical Languages Scholarship to study Turkish with the U.S. Department of State in Ankara, Turkey, this summer.

Special Talents/Skills: Playing the banjo and woodworking.

Hobbies: Fly-fishing in the summer and backcountry skiing in the winter.

Proudest moment at CC: Successfully walking on to the soccer team at CC and playing under the lights in our first game of the season last year.

Community Service Experience: Volunteering for a refugee rights NGO in the Republic of Georgia, Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity, and Concrete Couch: Concrete Coyote.
