Professional Development Needs Assessment

Dear Campus Community,

Since its inception in 2014, Excel at CC has been a program where employees can come together to engage in learning and enrichment. The workshops we have offered through the program have allowed us to shine a light on our internal knowledge, talents, and expertise. During the 2022-23 academic year, the Excel at CC program generated over 700 registrations for live training sessions. Of these registrations, 200 individuals attended at least one session this year.

As we head into the tenth year of the program, we are seeking to redefine what professional development should look and feel like at CC. The first step in this process is gathering information about the training needs that exist across our campus.

An anonymous needs assessment survey opened on June 1 and will run through June 30. The survey was designed to capture your thoughts about professional development opportunities at the college. It will also help us make these opportunities more relevant, accessible, and impactful.

The survey questions are divided into categories including:

  1. Individual competencies and skills
  2. Professional development resoures
  3. Supervisor competencies and skills
  4. Employee onboarding
While it covers many topics, the survey should take you less than 15 minutes to complete.

We plan to solicit campus partners in the fall to help us analyze the data, assess the outcomes, and plan for the following year’s professional development offerings which will be open to all staff and faculty.

Thank you for your participation in this needs assessment effort. Please contact Sara San Souci with any questions.
