Network Printing Issues today (and recently)

Network Printing Issues today (and recently)

We are aware of issues with network printing on campus this morning (and recently). We’re working on the problem, and don’t currently have an ETA on a fix.
Between crashes, the print server will process some print jobs each time so most jobs should eventually go through but may take much longer than usual.
Until this is resolved, we recommend saving your document as a PDF to a flash drive and plugging the flash drive directly into a printer and printing from there, which will bypass the currently-problematic print server.

Exciting Summer Offerings from Excel at CC

Excel at CC: Summer Cultivation and Growth Opportunities

The Office of Human Resources is proud to release our summer Excel at CC schedule. By attending Excel at CC workshops, you will have the chance to not only learn and develop your skills,  but also to engage with other CC employees and deepen relationships across campus. You are invited to browse our full schedule on the Excel at CC website, or scroll through the session descriptions below to get more information.

This summer we are highlighting:

  • CC’s commitment to sustainability by exploring the energy journey CC has been on over the last few years
  • CC’s commitment to antiracism by providing concrete tools and steps to address racism on our campus and in the community
  • Hands-on learning and practice with some of the great technology available to us on campus
  • Employee wellness opportunities, with a tour of the Adam F. Press Fitness Center

All are welcome – we look forward to seeing you there!

June 6 | Energy Management at CC Register Here

Presented by: Michael Brubaker

Have you ever wondered how CC got to where we are today – proudly carbon neutral since 2020? Michael Brubaker, Campus Operations and Plant Manager, will be giving a presentation to show the sustainability journey the campus has been on over the last several years. The session will conclude with a backstage tour of Tutt Library, where participants will have the chance to see how sustainability plans and efforts have culminated in a net zero energy system.

June 7 | Introduction to Power Automate Register Here

Presented by: Andrea Bruder and Weston Taylor

Using Power Automate is like having a magic wand that makes repetitive tasks go away! It can save a lot of time, reduce the potential for mistakes, and allow us to spend our time on tasks that benefit from human involvement. There are no prerequisites (we will start from scratch), and you don’t need to bring anything. Participants may use a computer in the computer lab or are welcome to bring their laptop.

June 13 | Project Management Register Here

Presented by: Lyrae Williams

In an environment where projects are often assigned to a group of individuals who may or may not work together, whose project leader may or may not hold a position of authority, the skill of being able to guide a project successfully from beginning to end is even more important. This program will provide tools to successfully manage any project at CC, regardless of its size or makeup of the team. Participants will also learn how to mentor others to lead projects.

June 13 | Effective Meetings Register Here

Presented by: Lyrae Williams

Recent research suggests that on any given day 17 million meetings are held and that one-third of a manager’s time is spent in meetings. This session will give participants the skills for getting the most value from their meetings.

June 15 | Using Power Automate with Microsoft Lists Register Here

Presented by: Andrea Bruder and Weston Taylor

If you have already taken the “Intro to Power Automate” session and are interested in using this tool to continue automating your tasks, you are invited to join us for this session. Participants will continue to build their knowledge about Power Automate and how to use it with Microsoft Lists, a simple database tool for collaboration, to help you stay organized and track your work.

June 21 | Adam F. Press Fitness Center Tour & Available Services Register Here

Presented by: Andy Obringer

As employees of Colorado College, you and your immediate family and dependents have access to use the fitness center on campus! The Adam F. Press Fitness Center is a 30,000-square-foot facility that offers a full complement of fitness machines and state-of-the-art equipment. Take a wellness break and join Excel at CC for this session where you will be shown how to find the cardiovascular and aerobic equipment, locker rooms, weight machines, and the amazing 3,500 square-foot Ritt Kellogg Climbing Gym!

July 6 | Using Power Automate with Adobe Sign Register Here

Presented by: Andrea Bruder and Weston Taylor

If you have already taken the “Intro to Power Automate” session and are interested in using this tool to continue automating your tasks, you are invited to join us for this session. Participants will continue to build their knowledge about Power Automate and how to use it with Adobe Sign to simplify your work and reduce errors.

July 6 | Campus Tree Tour Register Here

Presented by: Josh Ortiz

Trees play a critical role on Earth. There have been numerous studies that demonstrate that the presence of trees in communities has a wide range of benefits, many of which can be connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With all the benefits that trees provide in our urban landscape, how often do we take a moment to stop and appreciate them? Come explore CC’s diverse tree species on a guided Campus Tree Tour presented by CC’s Landscape and Grounds Manager, Josh Ortiz.

July 12 | Racism and White Discomfort: The Problem and the Solution Register Here

Presented by: Amanda Udis-Kessler

Because white discomfort plays such an important role in the maintenance of racism and in white unwillingness to work against it, direct focus, discussion, and strategies for addressing white discomfort are necessary. This workshop uses lecture, individual exercises, and small-group discussion to explore the nature of white discomfort and its functions in maintaining racism.

July 13 | Effective Use of Microsoft OneDrive Register Here

Presented by: Justin Freeman

Microsoft OneDrive offers us one terabyte/1TB of “free” cloud storage that we can use to keep our work files backed up, synced, and portable across various devices. OneDrive also makes working with colleagues and peers on a shared document easier, improves efficiency, and gives us an easy way to manage access to shared files. This one-hour session is designed to provide you with quick tips to help you be most effective when using this technology.

July 19 | Campus Tree Tour Register Here
