Thank You for a Successful Spring Conference

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Thank you for starting the semester together at Spring Conference.

Nearly 200 of you gathered in Reid Arena to spend time with colleagues, share thoughtful ideas and discussions, and engage in big-picture planning for a busy 2024. I appreciate the energy and commitment you brought to our Project 2024 and leadership activities.

During Spring Conference, I was pleased to announce the winners of the annual President’s Leadership Awards:

  • Victor Nelson-Cisneros Diversity and Inclusion Award: Rosalie Rodriguez, Associate Vice President for Institutional Equity and Belonging
  • Glenn Brooks Award for Innovation and Courage: Derrell Stinson, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Community Standards and Student Support
  • Jane Cauvel Collaboration and Community-Building Award: Mandy Sulfrian, Lead Academic Administrative Assistant for Geology
  • Brian Young Community Service Award: George Eckhardt, Campus Planner, In Memoriam

Congratulations to our award winners for your leadership, passion, and the impact you have made at CC. Kudos to all who were nominated, and many thanks to those who submitted and reviewed nominations.

At Spring Conference, I revisited our pillars, lenses, mission, and vision, as well as the CC motto: “Scientia et Disciplina,” which, for many years, the college has translated as, “Learning Through Hard Work.” Moving forward, you can find all of this at coloradocollege.edu/whatwebelieve. Thank you for using this framework to guide your individual and team goal-setting and strategic planning.

Finally, if you could not attend Spring Conference or did not have your phone available to scan the Project 2024 QR code, we would still like your thoughts on the Big Challenge questions. Click here to access the two-question survey. The survey will remain open through Friday, January 19.

I appreciate all that you do for CC, and I’m grateful to work with such engaged faculty and staff.

Sincerely,

L. Song Richardson

President
