On June 23, 2022, the U.S. Department of Education released proposed changes to the 2020 Title IX regulations. Title IX is the federal law that protects people from sex-based discrimination in educational institutions that receive federal funding. These proposed changes are subject to a 60-day public review and comment period. The deadline to submit a comment on these proposed changes is Monday, Sept. 12<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Public comment periods are an important opportunity to have your voice heard by our government on issues that directly affect you.<\/p><\/div>\n

Here\u2019s a brief summary of the proposed changes<\/a>. The specifics of these proposed changes can be found in the \u201cSummary of Major Provision of the Department of Education\u2019s Title IX Notice of Proposed Rulemaking<\/a>\u201d document.<\/div>\n
