Considering a Summer Block Away for 2023?:<\/span><\/strong><\/span>,<\/span>The deadline for proposals to lead a 2023 Summer Block Away are due on Summit by Friday, October 7.  Proposals should include course information (a draft syllabus) as well as travel information (rough itinerary), a draft budget, and identification of your planned SRA (Second Responsible Adult) for the program.  All proposals will be reviewed by the Summer Session Committee in October, with approval by the end of the month.  Approved programs will be invited to participate in the Summer Away Fair on December 1 and can receive assistance with production of posters and\/or brochures in November.  The proposals can be submitted on Summit at this address<\/a>. <\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Field Trip Fund: <\/strong><\/span>If you have a short, relatively local field trip you want to plan, and have exhausted department funds, the Field Study Fund may be able to help. Build a Block Away Workshops: <\/span><\/strong><\/span> <\/span>Interested in developing an off-campus block, but not sure where to start?  The Build a Block Away Workshop is a great starting point.  Learn about everything from itinerary development to budget modeling, best practices in experiential learning to selecting an SRA.  And if you are not sure what an SRA is, then this workshop is for you.  We hold them every even-numbered block and you don’t need to RSVP, just show up and get a quick primer on how to start from an idea and build yourself a block away.  Our next two workshops will be:<\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n
