As we work together to make mental health and wellness a top priority on campus, we want to share recent progress toward that commitment.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

The mental health task force<\/a> had its first meeting in January<\/strong> with more than 80 alumni, parents, students, staff, and faculty signed up to work on our shared commitment to create a campus where everyone thrives. Task force members have been invited to sign up for one of seven working groups<\/a>, each with a charge to be completed by the end of the academic year.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

Prior to Winter Break, we launched QPR training<\/a> for all employees<\/strong> to create a shared approach to reducing the risk of suicide on our campus.  We are asking all employees to complete the training by the end of Block 6.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

In December we announced a new telehealth service<\/a><\/strong> which provides all students with free, unlimited access to therapists and on-demand counseling . As of today, 165 students have actively registered, and 117 students have used the service.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

We are currently assessing our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)<\/strong> for access, quality, and services to ensure we have the required resources to meet staff and faculty mental health needs. Here is what we discovered.<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

In the Work of the College Roadshow series, we have held two events discussing our new anonymous reporting tool<\/strong>, with a third session scheduled for March 15<\/a>. The portal will go live this month. You can learn more about this program by visiting our website, Speak Up Colorado<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

We are close to completing the mental health questionnaires for all our student athletes. Once we have the required data, Children\u2019s Hospital\u2019s clinical psychologists will evaluate the data and come back to CC with recommendations for improved mental health resources for the athletics department. <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

Our search for the new associate vice president of wellness<\/strong> is well underway and we hope to invite finalists to campus by mid-March, during which the campus community will have opportunities to engage directly with each of the finalists.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span> <\/p>\n

Seventeen faculty and staff attended the first arts and crafts program for wellness <\/strong>Feb. 8. The next session will be held Feb. 24, from noon-2 p.m. For more information on how you can participate, please visit the arts and crafts web page<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n
