Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n

Colorado College Libraries and the digitalCC staff are excited to announce the launch of Author Profiles as a new feature of digitalCC<\/a>. These Profiles showcase the scholarship and creations of Colorado College community members, including faculty, staff, and students. Authors build and manage their own Profiles, with support from digitalCC staff, and users can browse pages by name, title, or department. Works and creations of all types can be submitted to digitalCC, the College\u2019s institutional repository, and can be listed on the creator\u2019s Author Profile. The Profiles and submissions to digitalCC will highlight and elevate the research, scholarship, and creative expressions of the Colorado College community. This can also be a home for self-publishing and pre-prints and works not included in the repository can also be showcased. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Here are two complete examples \u2013 Dustin Fife<\/a>, College Librarian, and R<\/a>yan Ba\u00f1agale<\/a>, Chair of the Music Department.  <\/p>\n

Steps to create your Author Profile –  <\/p>\n

1. Navigate to digitalcc.coloradocollege.edu<\/a>, click the login button in upper right corner and use your CC credentials to sign in to digitalCC. <\/p>\n

2. Hover over Author Profiles at the top of the page, then select Your Author Profile. In the form, the mandatory information is at the top, all other information is highly encouraged but optional. Tips for filling out the form can be found in the guide here<\/a>.  <\/p>\n

3. When finished with the form, click the green Save Author Profile button. You\u2019ll see your Author Profile page with a banner that says \u201cYour Author Profile will not be publicly visible until content is added to the Works tab.\u201d At this point your profile is only visible to you and to digitalCC admin. Add at least one work to make your profile public and visible to others. <\/p>\n

4. To add works, follow the prompts or click the Works tab then use the Add New Works dropdown.  
     A. \u201cUpload my Work\u201d takes you to the submission form for digitalCC and will add your work or creation to the repository. You may add pre-prints, open access articles, and self-published works here. Copyright and Creative Commons licensing options are available. If you have questions on whether you\u2019re allowed to submit works to digitalCC, whether you have the rights to do so, reach out to Rebecca Floyd, Digital Scholarship Librarian, at rfloyd@coloradocollege.edu.&nbsp<\/a>;These works will take a few days to appear as they need to be reviewed and published by digitalCC staff first. 
     B. \u201cFind my Records in digitalCC\u201d will search digitalCC for both your entered name and alternate name to identify any works already in digitalCC. For academic advisors, theses where you are listed as an advisor will be listed. You may choose to add these to your profile or not. Keep in mind adding them to your profile will help future department majors and future CC students see the topics your past students\u2019 research focuses on.  
     C. \u201cAdd External References\u201d is a basic citation with option to link to outside references, including journal articles, websites, book listings, or other places. 
     D. All works will appear under \u201cWorks to be Categorized.\u201d Click the three dots to the right to Assign Category and choose a Resource Type and your Contribution type.  <\/p>\n

5. Fill in Links and Research interests as needed. <\/p>\n

6. All information is saved and published as public as you create it.  <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
