While we have already welcomed a number of new students to campus, including Fall athletes and Bridge Scholars, we are looking forward to greeting the entirety of the Class of 2028, as well as incoming transfer students, on the first day of New Student Orientation, Monday, Aug. 19<\/strong>! Many students will begin arriving in Colorado Springs early and may choose to stop by various campus offices to take care of outstanding business; we thank you for helping welcome these new CC community members when you see them on campus. <\/p>\n

Detailed arrival instructions and directions, including a parking map <\/a>can be found on the NSO web page.<\/a> We encourage staff members who will be on campus on Monday, August 19 to be aware of increased traffic in the C1 (Tutt Library) lot and the Robson Parking Garage; these will be used as unloading zones for residence halls and the mailroom, as well as visitor parking.  <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

NSO Check-in and move-in begins Mon. Aug. 19 at 7:45 a.m.<\/strong> Students and their guests should report to the NSO Check-in Tent on Tava Quad prior to moving into their residence hall. At check-in, we will confirm that immunization and vaccination forms have been submitted (a requirement of on-campus living) and give students their NSO nametag and CC Gold Card. Parents, family members, and any other guests will also be given a CC wristband at check-in. During move-in, RAs, volunteers, and staff will be available to answer questions, lend a hand, and provide directions.  <\/p>\n

The NSO Program kicks off with the Welcome Lunch on Tava Quad, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.<\/strong>, including welcoming remarks from Interim President Manya Whitaker and CCSGA President Koray Gates \u201925.<\/p>\n

Family and Guest Orientation begins at 1:30 p.m.<\/strong> with the 2024 College Welcome in Robson Arena and continues from 2-5 p.m. <\/strong>with a Resource Fair on the concourse in Robson and afternoon programming in Cornerstone Arts Center.<\/p>\n

Students and their guests are welcome to enjoy a free dinner at Rastall Dining Room or check out a downtown restaurant before enjoying the Sweet Send-Offs dessert reception at the NSO tent on Tava Quad from 7-8:45 p.m.<\/strong> Family and Guest Orientation concludes at 8:45 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Various offices will be open in case students and their families need to take care of business, and all information can be found on the NSO website<\/a>. Students should connect with staff at the residence halls for all questions pertaining to housing.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

The NSO schedule takes inspiration from the Block Plan and gives students a taste of a “typical” class day: required sessions are offered each morning and the afternoon is open for them to create their own CC adventure \u2014 attend sessions, explore campus, get to know resources, and prepare for the semester ahead. Students are required to attend at least two conference-style sessions throughout NSO. (Thanks to the many departments and individuals that are hosting these sessions!)<\/p>\n
