The CDC has updated isolation guidance<\/a><\/span> for individuals who receive positive COVID-19 test results. <\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/h1>\n
Based on these guidelines and interim guidance for institutions of higher education from El Paso County Public Health, we have updated quarantine and isolation protocols<\/strong>, effective for all students beginning today, Jan. 7. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Please familiarize yourself with the updated protocols here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Key points: <\/p>\n

<\/strong>Isolation 
<\/u>The duration of isolation (following a positive test result) is 5-10 days and depends on the presence of symptoms.<\/span><\/p>\n

If a student has no symptoms on day five and receives a negative antigen test result from eMed, they may end isolation after day five and must mask until day 10 (this means no dining with others and no other unmasked activities; no travel allowed). <\/span><\/p>\n

Quarantine
<\/u>Students who are not up to date on COVID-19 vaccination (eligible for a booster but haven\u2019t yet received one OR unvaccinated) must quarantine following exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students who are up to date on vaccination (boosted OR within five months of completing Moderna or Pfizer series OR within two months from receiving J&J) do not need to quarantine following exposure and must mask for 10 days. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t yet received your booster dose, please do so as soon as feasible.<\/span><\/span>
