National Voter Registration Day<\/a>, the nation\u2019s largest single-day voter registration initiative, takes place next week on September 17. Despite widespread eligibility, approximately one-quarter of Americans are not registered to vote. Each year, millions of individuals are disenfranchised due to easily rectifiable issues such as missed registration deadlines or outdated address information. To address this challenge, National Voter Registration Day was established in 2012 and has since become a cornerstone of voter engagement efforts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

On September 10, the\u00a0ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge<\/a>\u00a0announced that CC has earned recognition for nonpartisan student voter participation efforts in the 2022 Midterm Election.\u00a0CC has been awarded a 2022 Colorado Campus Voting Challenge Highest Registration Rate for a 4-year Institution and a 2022 Colorado Campus Voting Challenge Highest Voting Rate for a 4-year Institution. CC has also earned a\u00a0Gold Seal\u00a0from ALL IN based on the\u00a0National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement<\/a>\u00a0report from Tufts University. The Gold Seal is given to campuses with 40-49% student voter participation or higher in the 2022 Midterm Election.<\/p>\n

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge was established in 2016, to focus on democratic engagement and nonpartisan college student voter registration, education, and participation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, September 19<\/strong>, CC and the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council are hosting the annual High School Symposium in Kathryn Mohrman Theatre<\/strong>. The symposium draws about 150 local high school students to the campus, and this year’s topic is “Global Population: Fertility, Mortality, and Migration.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Over the past decade, Ashley McCullough \u201912, MAT \u201914 has built her career as an English teacher in Cherry Creek, CO schools. She\u2019s dedicated her time both in and outside of school hours to supporting and guiding her students. In June, McCullough received her second Diamond Award for excellence as an educator and speech and debate coach from the National Speech and Debate Association.<\/p>\n

\u201cAshley is a quiet leader,\u201d says Sarah Hinkle, the director of CC\u2019s Speaking Center. \u201cShe is the one who tries to be invisible in the back of the room, but she\u2019s got incredible leadership ability.\u201d<\/p>\n

Enjoy an evening of theater by attending a performance of the FAC\u2019s 2024-25 season opener, Dial M for Murder<\/em><\/a>. This new adaptation of the celebrated murder mystery that inspired Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s movie masterpiece is directed by Elise Santora and runs September 19\u2013October 6<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the play, Tony is convinced that his wife Margot has been cheating on him. Now it seems that the affair is over, but in his jealousy, Tony spins a web of suspicion and deception that will tighten around them and ensnare both in danger, recrimination, and murder.<\/p>\n

Students receive FREE tickets and staff and faculty can purchase tickets for $30 on the day of the performance. Tickets subject to availability; must purchase in person and present a CC Gold Card.
